Vents
Hey there, a couple of easy plumbing questions:
Why do some people use ABS pipe and other PVC pipe for the drains etc? Is there that big of a difference?
Also, can I run 2" vent pipes to my main 3" vent pipe that goes outside? And, does it matter if this main vent pipe does not go straight up from toilet through the roof? I would like to move my one vent pipe towards the peak of the roof to line up with the other vent pipe. I thought I would both a couple of elbows in the 2" pipe through the ceiling, before it reaches the 3" pipe. Will there be any drawbacks I should consider?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Black plastic ABS is less expensive than white plastic PVC, but I don't think that the ABS glue holds as well. Matter of choice.
The total size of the vent pipes out of the roof should at least equal the total size of the main drain pipe.
You can probably do what you want to do (if I understand you correctly), but check with your local Building Inspection Department for local plumbing code first.
Good Luck!
