Brown looking pond

Angry Brown looking pond

We have a farm pond (not used for livestock) and the top of the water is dull looking and looks like bubbles rising water looks brown.
Need advice, thanks

When you say 'dull' are you referring to a film of sorts? Could be a protien film. Sounds stagnant, or oxygen deprived. Is it a new pond? Does it have any life in it (amphibian or plant)? Have you tested the water? (NO3, NO2, NH3/NH4?) A little more info will help...
