Having trouble connecting my non-kink flex pipe to filter

Hi:

I have purchased my bio-filter, pump and non-kink flex tubing.
The filter and pump both have a 1 and 1/2 inch connector.
I purchased 1 and 1/2 inch flex tubing. But now I can't get the
flex tubing over the pump and filter connectors.

I checked with the company I purchased them from and they suggested
boiling the ends of the tube. I tried that without success.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

lets see, you ordered the same size tubing to fit each other? or the 1 1/2 in connector is FOR 1 1/2 inch tubes? LIke most tubing-piping-even hose, you need to get one size bigger or smaller to fit into the other tube. same reasoning behind having male and female hose ends. You can try to get an adapter-maybe 2 inch piece of tubing that the lumen will fit over the 1 1/2 pieces you have, and stick each tube into either end. similar to the elbow on the pipe under your sink.
If that is too much for you, bring your filter hose into the store and fit it into each hose until you find a fit. Bring the other one in to replace it for the new one you find.

btw- if you can-use pvc pipe instead of flex. It will last longer with fewer problems. Use the flex in more temporary conditions. Good Luck!
