Anti Calcium

I have a small indoor fountain which only requires 2 and a half litres of water.
Instructions in the manual say that I must add anti-calcium to the water.
Is there an inexpensive household chemical or similar that I can use to do the job?

Just an idea, but I would think if you used distilled water you wouldn't need any treatment to the water since there are no minerals, such as calcium, in distilled water.
