Pond Heater ?

I have a K&N Thermo-pond heater that bit the dust, I don't know what happened but it just sinks when I put it in the pond.

So I was looking to get another one, but after buying a Laguna Aeration today, I am stocked on how well it works.

Would I still need a heater, being the aeration really gets the water moving at the surface?

Moving water should not freeze. Air pumps are recommended to keep ponds from freezing.
