Hot tub vs jacuzzi?

What's the difference between a hot tub and a jacuzzi? Is one for outside and one inside? I'm thinking about getting something with jetted water, but probably want it inside. What kind of special venting is needed to control the humidity/moisture?

Thanks,

Beth

I always thought the difference was the jetting action in the jacuzzi (which is a registered trademark, tho used as a generic term). Hot tubs, I think, are more like just a big soaking tub.

You will have considerable moisture involved with an indoor installation, plus you will need sufficient support for the weight on the floor, on the order of 1000-2000 pounds depending on the sieze.

For the humidity, you would probably need a fresh air vent plus a powered exhaust fan of some type which would need to be capable of moving quite a bit of air (more than the average bathroom power vent, for instance). A good cover would be a big help in keeping down the humidity (and retaining heat) in between uses.
