Question pool filter pressure

we have a in ground pool and a triton11 filter (TR60)...what i need to know is what the "base" pressure should be at so i can figure from there when it needs to be backwashed. thanks

The easiest way to find base pressure is to go ahead and backwash the filter. It won't hurt it, just wastes a little water. After you rinse and re-start, you will see your base pressure. Mine is a sand filter and runs @ 18 psi.
