hole in liner

i have a above ground pool liner that a child punctured with a stick or something. its about the size of a silver dollar and on bottom.
can this be fixed by the home handy-man or should a pro be called? any comments would be appreciated.
thanks,
grampy

There is patch kits, which have a tube of glue and pieces of liner that you can apply to the hole and they do work under water to apply them. They hold very well. Good luck!

Patch kits work and are easy to use. The same thing happened to us the first year we had our pool. We patched it and it held for 11 years until we replaced the liner.
