Recessing an above ground pool?

Recessing an above ground pool?
We inherited a 15' pool from the previous homeowner. The filter is positioned too close to the rear deck and we'll be moving it to the backside of the pool (it looks bad and it's noisy). Since we have to take the pool down anyway, we thought about recessing the pool 2 feet or so into the ground and extending the 2' high deck around it.
Is this doable? Preliminary plans call for sloping the earth sides so they won't put any pressure on the pool, then building the deck over the slopes. The yard seems to have good enough drainage to avoid water collecting on the outside perimeter of the pool. Should I also install some sort of drainage system?
Any tips are much appreciated.

Sounds like you have it right to me. I would for sure put a drain in that like hole around the pool you will have for like a hard rain and if the pool liner went. Also what does code say about a fence around the pool there?
