Disassembling a Polaris pump

The motor is a Franklin. There is no label on the pump body but some parts inside are marked "Letro". I have removed the impeller. It is on a threaded shaft. I don't know how to remove the spring loaded seals to get to the gasket. So I have half a pump body attached to the motor and can't get the gasket out. I think it is the gasket that is my leak site but I will replace the seals while I am at it if I can figure out how to get them loose from the shaft. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello tightcoat. While I am not familiar with this particular pool pump, I have worked on alot of different kinds of pumps at work. On a small pump such as what you've described so far, I'd say that this seal should simply slide off the shaft. Usually the back of the impellor holds pressure on the rotator part of the seal (spring) and keeps it spinning with the shaft. With the stationary behind that, which is fixed inside the back of the pump housing. The faces of these two parts effectively seal the fluid from leaking out, with the help of a few O rings. If these parts are stuck on there, try using some penetrating fluid to loosen them. I hope this is of some help.

Toni,
Thanks, it's amazing what a little penetrating oil will do the pump is back together and tomorrow I will wire it and get it back in service.
