I would like to Hard Wire my hut tub. Should I get a GFCI protected circuit? Or is one not needed?

I see lot's of stuff to clear water of suspended crud. There's flocculant and there's clarifier and ultra-clarifier. What's the difference? I read the instructions that after using flocculant, all the crud should be vacuumed directly out to the drain, whereas clarifier can simply be circulated and filtered out through the pool filter. Both appear to be based on cationic polymers, so I'd assume the way each work is the same. What about the x-in-1 products that contain flocculant, clarifier, and a whole bunch of other cool-marketing terminology? How much of this stuff and how often do you folks typically have to use this? thanks!
