Is this hottub damaged/ruined?
I just bought a new house and it has a inground hottub. As I have never used it and didn't know the history of it I thought I would drain and clean it, on advise of local hottub shop. This is what I saw at the bottom of the tub.

These bumps are 1/8 to 1/4 or so tall. Some of them have brown stuff leaking from them. Or the old owner tried to fix holes in the tub. Can this tub be used still and these are no big deal or is it best to replace it? This is the first hottub I have owned so I don't what is ok or not.
Thanks for the help.

What you have is de-lamination. The acrylic surface is separating from the fiberglass backing. Structurally it shouldn't be a problem, as the fiberglass backing is what's holding in the water. However, if they crack and/or break you could have some sharp edges.

I would say you have "osmosis" is all. Thats what its called
on the fiberglass boats. Take and put a hole in them so the water and junk can get out. After they are dry take a disk sander and sand them out to where the layer is good. feather it to the old glass. Now if they are deep you can build up with some 6 oz glass cloth and resin. After this is all done and sanded down just come back over it with some new GEL coat.Any of this stuff you need get at a boat store.
Feel for any more bumps and get them all out now at one time.
