Question pool filter returning DE powder

I have a DE filter that is approx. 15 yrs old. Have replaced the grids.. o-rings and valve plunger and manifold. DE is still returning thru the return jets. Have new backwash valve to put on but wanted any suggestions before going thru all that trouble. Is there something to use to loosen the pvc glue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello: loladywho

Best of my knowledge there is not product to loosen PVC adhesives. All the lines I have seen have been cut out using a hacksaw or similar device. Once any repair is made, new pipe is installed.

Like Sharp said there is not a thing that will take the PVC apart for you that I know of.
Think about it. Off the valve there or not far from it is a piece of straight pipe going to the valve. Cut this with a saw.Take the old valve and the pipe on it off. Put the new valve on the filter and pipe to it from where you cut the pipe off slip a coupling on it there.
