Question pool heater size

undefinedOur pool heater is 250,000btu for our size pool, what harm is there if any to get a 400,000btu heater? WE have a chance to geta good price on a new one, but it is the larger btu's

First think about the pipe size and the pump size .They have to be bigger for the higher BTU out put of the heater. You might look into solar thats all I use.

good idea, if you have an attached spa it will heat up much quicker, you will also notice an improvement heating the pool, the best bang for the buck is the Sta-Rite Maxitherm heater 84 % efficiency, absolutely bullet proof,

now for the down side, measure the distance from ypur gas meter to the pool heater as the distance will determine the maximum size of heater you can install with your existing size of gas pipe,

any pool rated pump made down to a 1/2 hp will flow enough water so that is not a problem.
