Soft Tub Cover

I,ve got a waterlogged soft tub cover. The black plastic kept coming loose and my wife left it off.Now the styrofoam is waterlogged.Any remote chance of drying it out?If not what can I do.I new cover is $400 and I just can,t afford that right now.

If you are strapped for cash. Blue board foam from your local contractor/building supply can make a nice cover. Get foam 2" thick or thicker (often used on commercial building roofs). It is quite rigid and stron, and will insulate very well. I would not bother with the thinner 1/2" foam, but it would probably work for a short while. Just remember that a sheet of foam will not prevent anyone from falling into your spa. A child (or drunk friend) could climb or fall onto the foam and break through causing death, serious injury, wet underwear...
