Thumbs down In-Ground Hot Tub Plans?????

I want to build an in-ground hot tub. I need the plans on what I need for plumbing? Not the kind of material, but the layout and such. Which lines to what and just how it should be layed out.

Have you found any plans. My husband is doing the same in our back 'outdoor room.' Just want to help him get it right the first time...

I looked into buying an in-ground spa for my backyard and decided that the costs were too high. What I did instead was buy a all-in-one unit and place it on a slab that was 22" below grade. This makes it fit in with the rest of my yard and makes it easy to get in and out.

Thing to keep in mind: drainage for the slab and access to the pumps etc.

Take a look here

they have several how to books available for building your own spa / hot tub.

I have seen too some books at amazon .com that say that they are how to guides, but the reviews of those seem less than encouraging.

This website has a downloadable file for parts and general design of hot tubs. It also has every conceivable part list for purchase.

how long has it been since you did this? I was thinking about doing the same. Do you have any pics. Did you go deeper than 22" for a footer( slab of concrete)?
