Height of pump

I'm currently in the process of installing a 18' above-ground pool.

One side had to be dug out 22"

If I place the pump where I want to, then it will sit on the ground about 2' higher than the pool bottom. Will this cause a problem? It's a 1 1/2hp pump and sand filter.

Thanks everyone!

Hi Karen, seeing how most 18 ft. above ground pools are 4 ft. deep at least, your pump and filter will be below the water level, no problem other than add 2 valves one before the pump and one between the filter and pool to shut off water flow during the time you need to service the pump or filter,
recommend hayward 2 way valves apx $40.00 each, well worth it.

Thanks so much! We will definately plan on adding valves both before and after the pump.
