I take it you have a gunite pool, ? if thats the case you use thinset, if you intend to use white groute use white thinset if you use a dark groute use grey thinset, apply tile on day one groute on day two and fill on day three.

Tiling Spa dividing wall

Have inground pool with spa
tile has come off dividing wall
have had job done by tile man and it comes back off in spring (water was lowered several feet down)
So. DIY
Have proper tile from tile store and mortar mix and sealer they recommend
I feel that this shop has knowledgeable people;
Have removed old tile - looks to be a simple job; am not in a hurry
Need to do it right and get it over (MUCH pressure from wife about this)
Could anyone lay out a few; 5 or 6 basic steps?

Mix mortar; use notched trowel
Set tile; press in; try to get all air out
Question at this point - these tiles are hooked together with small 'rubber-like' links which makes life much easier. When the mortar comes up between tiles it is easy to move tiles around while wiping it off
Any advice; hints and watch out for's would be appreciated
This whole job is about 8 square feet but has used up much time and money
TIA
