above ground pool location

We've decided to get a 20' above-ground pool- In order to install the pool in our yard- I need to remove 2 pine trees (one is about 40' tall- the other is about 20')- Once I remove the trees and have the stumps grinded down- Is it a good idea to have the pool installed in that area?? Will the roots decompose and cause the pool to sink eventually??
What are my options?

Tree Roots

Ski Nut,

My first job (too many to mention) was working after school and out with an Arborist. Few root systems even after several years have had a problem with the yard sinking from root decay ( I re-visited a few of the same yards when I was foreman for a sod company). If the proper prep work is done at the base for the liner than you should be fine for the life of a few liners. I think you would be better served though if you were to post this same topic on the Garden/ Landscaping forum. Since someone there is more "in the know"
