Backyard size for 18x36 pool

Hi. I think I might have missed the boat here. What should the size be of the backyard to comfortably accomodate this pool size. The dimensions of our backyard are 68x36

A 38’ wide by 68’ long back yard? 18’ wide by 36’ long pool would be fine. Check with your local building department, 3’ minimum clearance around the pool in most areas.
