Air in system

I have a 18x36 inground pool with a hayward super pump. Lately I have notice air bubbles in through the clear top of the strainer basket at the pump. Most times air is blown back into the pool most usually through the return neares the pump. I dont seem to be loosing any water it appears the air may be coming in somewhere in the area of the pump, filter or connections there to. Not sure how to locate these and welcome any suggestions. Seems like this happened once before and backwashing the filter eliminated the problem but I am not sure.
Thanks in advance for your help

Suction leaks can occur anywhere before the pump, try the pump pot o-ring then check the threaded fitting in the front of the pump to see if it is loose.

Thanks have replaced the O rings in the pump basket, connections are glued but will check threads to see if by chance the glue has deteriorated.
