Magnetek Pump

I have an inground pool with a Jacuzzi Magnum pump and a Magnetek motor. The motor has burned out (presumably because it ran dry for a couple of days and now just hums when when I turn it on). I purchased a new motor thinking it would be a fairly easy replacement. I received an AO Smith motor. When I removed the motor from the pump I realized that there was an impeller assembly attached. I tried to remove it by turning the bolt in the middle but I couldn't get it to turn. Here are my questions:
Is Magnetek now the same as AO Smith?
Does the impeller actually come off and if so which way should I turn the bolt?
Can I transfer the impellor from the old motor to the new motor?
If I can't can I purchase the impeller separately?

Thanks for the help!!!!
