Troubleshooting water loss...

The water level in my pool is dropping steadily by approx. 3-4" per day (not evaporation).

The last time I had a leak, there was air (bubbles) in the water at the returns. No bubbling this time.

There are no leaks at the pump/filter.

What are the steps to locate where the leak is?

20 x 40 inground pool with vinyl liner. The liner is only 2 years old and I don't believe it has been cut or ??

All help much appreciated!

Tom

Hi Tom, 3-4" a day is a pretty big leak, I would swim around and check all seams in liner, they do come apart. I would also look in all crevices for holes in liner. Also look for depressions under liner, that much water will cause a washout under it. The next areas to look though they usually don't leak this much, check screws around steps, screws around skimmers, screws around main drain, and screws around returns. Also check faceplates for cracks.
Good luck...

Thanks!

Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated.

I'll go over the areas you suggested this weekend.
