Pump/Filter Sizing

Hello! My hubby and I are attempting to move our pool equipment as part of a large remodel. He's handy (and I'm helpful )

We have the equipment moved, electricity run and everything things to be connected correctly...

We bought a Hayward Super II 3/4 hp pump, but did not replace our existing sand filter. The filter is rated for 60 gpm.

The we have 1 1/2 in lines (pvc)...

We're wondering if we should replace the filter with a larger one now...

Any recommendations?

Red face

It's an older Tagleus TA60. I think it holds 325 lbs of sand, the tag on the front says 3.1 area...and flow rate is 60 gpm.

The pool is gunite/in ground. It's about 20,000 gallons...

I don't know if it matters...but we live in PHX.

As long as it is in good condition there is no reason to replace it. Filter and pump is right size for your pool...
