Above Ground Pool: "gurgling" Whirlpool

Just installed a new above ground pool, however, can't figure out how to stop this annoying gurgling sound.

Pool is filled to correct levels. What appears to be happening: as the water comes back into the pool from the filter, the downward force of the water through the jet is creating mini-whirlpools. As the whirlpools circulate around and eventually pass the front of the jet, the force of the downward water destroys the whirlpools creating this gurgling sound that is driving me nuts. I can turn the direction of the jet to the side, but the manual shows that it must be pointing to the bottom of the pool to create proper circulation.

Any ideas????

should be to the side and slightly downward causing pool to actually swirl, all debri is then collected in middle of pool making vac much easier.
