Covering Pool

Hi,

We have an above ground Intex pool that came with a cover. Should I cover the pool when not in use? The only problem I have with covering it is that when we use the pool, the cover that came with it also touches the water and gets water on it. If I remove it then reinstall it, dirt goes into the pool. If I cover it, will that help keep my water at the recommended pH, Chlorine, and Alkalinity?

Thanks.

Covering the pool will help reduce chemical consumption and keep dirt out. However if you get more dirt on the cover by taking off and putting on I would leave it off. It's really your choice what works best for you...

The cover may help maintain your chlorine but with your stabilizer running at 50ppm you should be fine. I'd leave the cover off. Too much of a pain to install and take off.
