Spa Insulation Removal help

I have a leak and am zeroing in on the problem. Is there any better way to remove the foam insulation around pipes and fittings without chipping away with a knife or razor? Anything to use that could safely melt away the foam?

depends on the area you are working on, I've used a sawzall but got to be careful not to cut a pipe. Also a drywall saw helps.

I know it sounds stupid..and it depends on the age and type of the insulation, but I've used a bread knife and a pro quality ice cream scoop. Hey, it worked!
