Can I vacuum to waste using an automatic crawler?

Here's my situation:

2 days ago the creek out the back flooded, leaving my inground pool looking very murky to say the least. I can see the bottom, so it didn't get too much stuff in it. I've let it sit for the last 2 days to get the stuff to the bottom. I've backwashed the water to clear and I am on my way down to give it a good dose of Chlorine for the night. So, tomorrow morning will be vacuum time, can I vacuum it (obviously to waste) using my auto crawler? The plan is to put the hose in to keep it topped up while the creepy crawler is vacuuming, I need to get back to work, so can't be there to tend to it, but will be able to look in on things roughly every hour.....

In theory it would work however it is going to use alot more water than your hose will add. It will also go much slower than vac manually using much more water. You could run it till water level gets low then refill and run again, will take some time....
