Pool steps

I have an above ground pool with a 4 step set of pvc stairs for using to get into and out of the pool. It has rails, and straps at the top to fasten to the deck. Is there a better way to weight the bottom steps to the floor of the pool besides bags of sand?

Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the help guys. You know, I just took a handful of 10" spikes and nailed that bottom plate right to the ground and, you know, that sucker just stays put!!

I filled six large laundry detergent bottles with sand and glued the caps on. Just tried it this season. My thought was that the handles would make it easier to handle them.

Now THERE'S a good idea!

For a little while there I was afraid I should have used roofing nails to get more surface area.....
