cloudy water

cloudy water

i have 15 or 18 inch round pool and 4' deep by intex. when i took it down last year i put baking soda over it so when i took to basement for storage it would not smell. Well I put pool up this year and filled pool but water cloudy if i cup water in hand it is clear as can be but so cloudy can't see bottom of pool. I have put clorine tablets and bag of shock and swim and apx 8 oz of clarifier. but still coudy can anybody help me

it sounds like it just needs to filter a day or two. Make sure to clean filter regulary so it will clear up faster.

Prolly algae, so shock it and use a clarifier if needed after that.

too much baking soda

I have run pump and have swept but when water gets stirred up it becomes cloudy again and can't see bottom of pool
i used 1 bag of shock and swim and 1/2 bottle of clarifier
any words of advise or wisdom

you are going to need to vac on waste. These particles are too small for filter and need to bypass filter and vac out into yard very slowly. Could be dead algae or even be from the brand shock you're using.

you need to bypass filter and vac sending what you vac up out in the yard (not back to the pool).

so i have an extra pump my vac runs off pump and i hook it up and the one end that goes thru filter leave out in yard

sounds right, make sure to keep water hose filling pool
