Unhappy Laars lite 2 - how do you replace the pilot generator?

I am 90% sure my pilot generator is bad, pilot won't stay lit and it was working just a few days ago. I have struggled to find an easy way to remove the generator but it's just so far back in the unit and the burner tray is in the way. anybody done this before or know how to replace what should be a simple job? Thanks

you have to remove the burner tray, there are screws in the corners, the gas has to be disconnected from valve, and a couple wires need to be disconnected. It is pretty easy...

Thanks for your insight. I was hoping there was an easier way, but I guess not.
