can i just switch the cord?

my above ground pool pump is 3 years old, and only used 5 months out of each year(stored during winter). no issues till this year, it apears to be working just fine exept its has a very loud elecltrical buzz like noise. i work in the automotive and i know when starters and alternaters do this it means the bushings or bearings are bad. I can not find a rebuild kit anywhere. i did find replacement motors on-line. but my problem is the ones with the twist lock plug are $50 bucks more. all the specs i found are the same. does anyone know why i cant just buy the cheeper and just swap the plug?

the model number of the hayward pump is SP1580X15TL
