Does solar cover work in shade?

As the title states. Does the solar cover work in the shade? This would be one of those easy set pools 18' wide 48" deep. Pennsylvania climate.

does a solar cover work in the shade...... what do you think ?

No sun = no heat

It will keep any existing heat in but it won't generate any new heat.

Yes, just not as well as in direct sun.

Solar covers work on infra-red light (radiant heat), which is just a wavelength of light, emitted
by the sun, the ground, the trees etc.

Same law of nature that allows a sunburn on a cloudy day, or allows your eyes to work in shade -
alows light to refracted and reflected by the atmosphere.
