Insulating spa cabinet

I am in Canada, and I am adding some insulation inside the cabinet of my spa located outside in my deck. The door on my cabinet that leads to the spa pack has 2 little 1 inch round vents for airflow for the pump.

My question is would it be ok to screw some rigid foam to this door ONLY for winter (would cover the 2 vents as well). I can't imagine anything overheating outside when the temperature is around zero outside - opinions?

We'd just be guessing. If you do cover the vent holes just monitor the temperature underneath.
You could take and use one of those long thermometers and stick it thru the vent and thru the foam.
