Pool timer clicking constantly

The timer to my pool pump is working fine, turning my pool pump on and off as it should. However there is a constant clicking sound coming from the timer regardless if the pump is on or off. The click occurs about every 5 to 10 seconds. I probably would not have even noticed it except the pump is located right outside my bedroom window, so I have to turn the circuit breaker off every night to get to sleep. Do I need to replace the timer or is there something I can try first to stop the clicking noise?

Welcome to the forums.

If it's an older style Intermatic timer then yes.... it will need to be replaced as the clock drive gears are worn/noisy. I've heard these timers make loud noises and keep running for years.

You can post the make and model of it so we can comment further or even shoot and post a pic for us. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html
