Curiosity question about water temps

The heat wave that covered N.E. Ohio last week got me thinking...

What is the "normal"pool water temperature for people living in, say, Phoenix, etc...?

I had to leave my solar cover off for a week because the water was just too dang warm. (87-88 degrees) Luckily, the 65-70 degree nights help out. Do they even use a cover in warmer climates? And can I assume the dry air in the desert southwest makes you add water every day?

I have seen pools at hotels Nevada and Arizona that are chilled/cooled.

Long ago I had an above ground pool that was "not refreshing" for about 6 weeks during summer. I built a sun screen to shade the sides. Then I covered the pool during the day with a sunshade. Both shades were several feet off the water and away from the pool to allow for good airflow and cooling. It was very annoying to set up and take down in addition to the usual pool maintenance.
