did not open pool this summer,do I need to winterize it again?

First time homeowner, we have an in ground saltwater pool and we did not open it this summer as we were out of town pretty much the whole summer.

The question is, do I need to winterize it again? (it was winterized Oct last year), thanks!

At the very least you'd need to renew the chemicals.

If it were me I'd rewinterize again. I blow compressed air thru all the lines and then cap them with the air trapped in them. I'd be afraid of not enough residual air pressure to sustain another winter. I run two floating buoys with time release chemicals to slow down algae growth. Not sure what's used in a salt water pool.

Thanks, I will ask the previous owner who did the winterize and call the company to check.

Thanks again!
