Pentair Air Vent Strainer
What's the importance if this expensive little ~!@#$%^& thingy? Mine's flat....been flat for quite sometime.
Filter is a Nautilus FNS 48
Secondly how do you replace the Air Relief Assembly, I don't have the big a wrench, any tips & tricks from experienced hands?

Air filters as you would expect filter the air. The screen prevents debris and insects from getting inside. They aren't free but I wouldn't say $15 is so ridiculous.
If you don't have a wrench you'll have to make some sort of tool. I'd use a ratchet strap or rope and a board or piece of pipe. You can also take a larger board and cut a notch in it and make a wrench.
