Revamp old hot tub

Hello there. Long post warning.

My mom has an old hot tub that needs a replacement motor. She has fibromyalgia and the hot tub improves the quality of her life. She is low-income, and unable to finance a new tub. I can't find any information about what the original motor was. The original motor was taken by someone that pledged to repair it, but never brought it back. Mom has no idea who she handed the motor off to. The hot tub is the original introductory model from Viking, the round Viking I. Viking has no information about the motor. I am currently considering finding some sort of electronics bundle where I could just replace everything but the shell; however, I don't even know if such a thing would be available. I am hoping someone here may have some helpful ideas. The backup plan was to use the good ol stimmy to buy her one of the inflatable tubs. I think that she would get a better soak in a full size tub, if it is at all possible to repair the one she has.

Spas are nothing more than a collection of parts so nobody makes a "refresh kit" to replace everything in a specific tub.

If all you are missing is a motor that should be an easy replacement. I find it hard to believe that a manufacturer would not have information on it's own products, worst case a competent spa/pool repair would be able to diagnose the motor requirements just by looking at the pump, or take the pump to them!

We could probably figure out what you need if you can provide a picture of the pump(s) plumbing or model number of the tub. Some tubs use a single speed main motor and a second circulation pump. Other tubs use a single two-speed pump.

Thanks for replying.

The issue is that the motor is gone. I have no clue what it should look like. Someone took it to repair it and never brought it back. I have been on the Webz trying to figure out what motor I need, but I am clueless.

Take some pictures of under the spa/tub. We need to see the plumbing.
We can probably recommend a motor/pump combo.
