Freeze Cranberry Sauce?

Can you freeze cranberry sauce? Salvage store has a good price ($1.50) on 3 pond cans but one can would last me 6 months so I was wondering if I could freeze it in single serving portions. I figured wrap in foil and put the wrapped slices in a Ziplock bag.

I have used freezer jars for jellies and preserves, but my experiences with foil wrapped foods, even with the zip lock bag is they will get some freezer burn. The real heavy freezer bags might help, you would have to weigh the cost vs savings.

Now that the kids are gone, the wife and I have some of the same issues, we just don't use stuff fast enough to buy like we used to. I hate paying higher prices for small packages, but I hate even more throwing away spoiled food.

enjoy the cranberry sauce. PS have you tried the cranberry raisin things, wow.

Thanks for the answer. I consider freezer burn a food group. Just was worried it would loose its" jell" when it thawed.
