In a pot add 1/3 good scotch whisky.....1/3 honey.....and 1/3 whipping cream. Heat to almost boil and serve in VERY SMALL glasses

Yes, heat until just barely boiling or use a thermometer and heat it to about 170. The boiling you'll see is the alcohol and usually has smaller/finer bubbles than water boiling. Do NOT try heating it hotter or to get a more full boil as you are just driving off the alcohol.

As a fun science experiment put a thermometer in your cocktail and start heating it. You will see the temperature steadily rise to about 173f and stop. That's the boiling point of alcohol. No matter how high you turn up the heat the cocktail will stay at about 173. Then once the alcohol is gone the temperature will begin rising again until you get to about 212f where the water starts boiling and you've learned the first steps of distillation.

Sorry but that sounds like a waste of good scotch. The only thing that should ever be allowed to touch good single malt is an ice cube.

Hi cw....a single malt has a bit too much peat for me. I like a blend on the rare occasions when I have Scotch...such as Xmas.
