sargent lock

hello
this is not a question but rather an answer to an old question i had that i found the answer to and it may help other readers. to get some sargent locks off to rekey for example take the face plate off and you will see one or two #2 philips screws above and/ or below the dead bolt take it/them out. THEN put the key in about 3/4's of the way and turn counterclockwise-the cylinder you want to bring to the locksmith will unscrew with a dozen or so turns.
hope that helps
