Eagle Locks

I am working on a bedroom cabinent, probably 60 to 70 years old. It has 5 Eagle locks on it, labeled Y8,Y9,Y10,Y11, and Y12. I have 4 keys - the Y9,Y10,Y11, and Y12.

Do you know if a locksmith can reset the locks so I can deal with just one key? Or can I get new locks?

Thanks

Tom Mitchell

Maybe. I have disassembled old Eagle drawer locks, used on file cabinets, even though not designed for it and rekeyed them but I have other old ones around for spare parts. If these are the type that use a 3/4" barrel, held on to the wood by a couple of screws, replacements should be commonly available. Remove one or all and stop by your local locksmith or home center to see what is available.

Thanks for the eagle lock update.

I'll let you know how I do.

Thumbs up

Thanks. We appreciate hearing what worked out for folks.

I forgot to mention: another source for new locks would be woodworker supplies online such as Rockler or others, they often have very good deals.
