Keyless deadbolt - useful or not?

Hi,

I'm planning to install deadbolt to my home. I read some discussions about keyless deadbolts but, I did not get enough information on whether they are reliable and which brands are good. Any suggestions would help.

Thanks,
Ans

Simplex, a commercial grade brand, are the only ones I am familiar with. They use a mechanical push button code and are very reliable. My co-moderator will be along eventually, he may have some other suggestions for you.

One day my wife will learn about the dangers of downloading the unknown and how it effects this computer!
I'm up and running again now though!!

Hi ansarim, sorry for the delay in a response.
I've found that Ilco Unican makes a very reliable push button lock. There are several styles made for various applications (re; deadbolt vs deadllatch) and they are completely mechanical so there are no batteries to worry about replacing.
Over the years, I've installed many of them and though they can be a little pricey in comparasine with some lock systems on the market, they do serve a need when one does'nt want to carry a key.

Regards
