Question Sliding Glass door lock

I installed a prime-line slide-co lock on a sliding glass door and it works; however, it is very difficult to lock and unlock. The lock info is below. Any suggestions for making this lock work better?

Try the lock with the door open. If it still works hard then it something with the lock/installation itself.

If it works fine, then your problem is when the door is shut. This usually means an alignment problem of some sort with the latch. I have had to move latches a bit or bend them one way or another depending on the style.

A door that does not shut all the way due to crud in the track or an out of plumb jamb, caused by settling or poor installation, may cause this problem also. In this case try to shim the latch out a bit to allow enough room for the hook to engage without binding.
