Question 5" backset deadbolt

I've got a Shlage entrance door lock in my 1 3/4 solid wood
front door that uses a 5"backset deadlatch. It's working
fine after a lot of years! I feel I need to install a single cyl
deadbolt above it. For appearances sake, it should also use
a 5" setback. I looked at the Schlage site and came up
empty. Is such an animal possible? Appreciate your help!

Welcome to the DIY forums Mallmill13;
I know that Weiser brand makes a 5 " backset, but I'm not sure if Schlage still makes them or not. You might try checking with your local locksmith shop for some old stock.
To be sure, I'll check with our Schlage Rep tomorrow and get back to you with a more definate answer though.

Regards

Looks like they are still available. This link shows some options.

Hey WGW and Schiejr I really appreciate your help. I bought a 5" backset for my new Schlage deadbolt and will drill this weekend! Thanks again

Your welcome, thanks for the follow up. Remember, measure twice, drill once.
