Unable to remove Old Schlage lock
Hi,
Read through a few threads and it seems a common
problem but unable to resolve my specific problem.
I have an old copper color looking Schlage lock
in the bathroom. I was able to take off the
face plate however the door knobs
have no screws on either side.
On knob has something coming out which looks
like the end of a paper clip however trying to
pull at it did nothing.
Have tried everything but still unable to
remove...help!

Hello Liverpoolfcfan,
Look around the inside knob, (the one with the paperclip looking piece sticking out), near the rose plate. You should see a notch, on the thin part, that looks like the tip end of a flatblade screwdriver. This is a retainer. It is spring loaded, and can be depressed with something. Push that in, and remove the inside knob.
Next, remove the rose plate. It is a thin metal, so be carefull not to bend it. You should now see your screws. Good luck.
