removing a schlage deadbolt lock

Please help!!! We need to replace a deadbolt lock, as it only keys opens from the outside. There are no visible screws (or plugs) inside or outside and we removed the keeper and found nothing. No slots for screwdrives or allen wrenches. We tried spinning, prying, spinning, prying...what's the secret??

Sounds like you might have a commercial mortise lock on your door. When the door is open, remove the face plate covering the bolt mechanism on the door edge. Inline with the cylinders there should be retaining screws that need to be removed to allow you to unscrew the cylinders.
