My Baldwin door latch "twangs"

I recently installed some new passage sets in a couple of bedrooms and I find that unlike with the Schlage sets they are replacing, the latches give a twang and vibrate when I push them flush with the door edge and then release. Is this characteristic of the Baldwin latch, or have I not not done something correctly prior to installing it?

My old Schlage latch would snap out and not vibrate. I hope someone knows what I mean and can address this for me. Thanks so much for any help.

could be some binding.....but Baldwin are much better quality and would have a better latching action.

Does the sound occur when the latch is removed?

Did you use the new strike plate

I used Baldwin on about every door in my house, no twang... Did you install the new strike plates and line them us. They are thicker and less flexible. see how the existing one lines up, check the depth, and install the new strikes.
