common key locks

I have a home with 7 key locks that are currently common key so one key opens all locks. I need to replace 2 of the locks and want to know how I can get the new locks set up so the old keys work the new locks?

In short, the answer is yes. If the replacements are the same brand as the old, a locksmith can set them up.

I think that at least one lock maker has a kit for DIY changing, but they seem to be hard to find.

You may even be able to pull the tumblers from the old lock and swap it with the new lock.

New locks need to accept the same key blank (SC1, KW1, SC9, etc) as old locks.
